Art therapy utilizes the expressive arts to address overwhelming emotions and trauma, resolve conflict, and provide personal insight. Traditional psychotherapy is combined with various mind-body exercises and modalities to support physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
The art produced during sessions can serve as a guide to self-discovery and provide insight into how our nervous system responds to past and present experiences and behavioral patterns.
Art therapy helps the brain recognize, acknowledge, integrate, and resolve problems beyond our immediate awareness or conscious control.
Being an artist is not a requirement in order to use the power of creation to examine behaviors, feelings, thoughts and reactions to gain personal insight.
Artistic expression, regardless of talent, helps connect and ground life’s experiences in a gentle and non-threatening way, reorienting and transforming oneself.
